Agreement and scope
These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the TableRound website, host portal, live quiz rooms, player experience, shared displays, and related services. By using TableRound, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
If you use TableRound for a company, venue, club, school, or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organisation. “You” then includes both you and that organisation.
Eligibility and roles
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter an agreement to create a host account or buy a paid plan. A player who is not old enough to agree to these Terms may use TableRound only with the permission and supervision required by the host, parent, guardian, school, or applicable law.
Hosts control quiz content, room access, scoring, event details, and participant management. Players join a host's live round. A shared display presents limited room information to the audience. Each role must use the service only for its intended purpose.
Accounts and sign-in
Hosts may sign in through Google and our authentication provider, Supabase. You must provide accurate account information, keep access to your sign-in account secure, and promptly tell us if you suspect unauthorised use. On a shared computer, sign out when you finish.
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless it results from a security failure for which TableRound is legally responsible. We may require account verification or restrict access to protect the service and its users.
The service
TableRound lets hosts write and import quizzes, open live rooms, collect answers, score rounds, show results, and retain a record of sessions. Players can join without an account using a code or QR link. Features, capacity limits, and availability depend on the plan and the current stage of the service.
TableRound may release alpha, beta, preview, or experimental features. They can be incomplete, change without notice, or be withdrawn. We may improve, add, remove, or limit features, but we will not use a service change to avoid obligations that already apply to a paid period.
Host content and responsibilities
You keep ownership of quizzes, questions, images, event details, and other content you submit. You grant TableRound a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, display, and transmit that content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and support the service. This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for protected backups and records we must retain by law.
As a host, you are responsible for:
- having the rights and permissions needed for content you upload or present;
- the accuracy of event, venue, price, accessibility, prize, and schedule information;
- the fairness of quiz rules, scoring corrections, tie-breaks, and prizes;
- avoiding unnecessary personal data, confidential information, and unlawful or harmful content.
We may remove or restrict content that appears to breach these Terms, the rights of another person, or the law. If you believe content infringes your rights, contact us with enough detail to investigate.
Players and live events
TableRound supplies software. Unless we clearly say otherwise, we do not organise, operate, supervise, or endorse a listed quiz night, venue, entry fee, prize, or host. Event organisers are responsible for safety, licences, accessibility, staffing, taxes, refunds, and compliance with local rules.
Players must use an appropriate display name, follow the host's rules, and treat other participants with respect. Scores can depend on network timing, host adjudication, and corrections. The host's reasonable decision controls the live room unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Acceptable use
You must not use TableRound to:
- break the law, infringe rights, harass people, or publish hateful, sexual, violent, or deceptive content;
- cheat, scrape answer keys, bypass room controls, impersonate another person, or disrupt a live session;
- probe security, introduce malware, overload the service, evade rate limits, or access data without permission;
- resell, copy, reverse engineer, or use the service to build a competing product except where law permits it.
You may use reasonable accessibility tools and ordinary browser features. Security research requires our prior written permission and must avoid accessing another person's data or interrupting a live room.
Plans and billing
Current plan features and limits are described on the pricing page. If a paid plan is available, its price, currency, taxes, billing period, trial terms, and renewal terms will be shown before checkout. Stripe processes payments and may apply its own terms to the payment flow.
A recurring plan renews at the interval shown at checkout until it is cancelled. You can cancel through the billing portal before the next renewal. Unless the checkout terms or applicable law say otherwise, access continues until the end of the paid period and fees already charged are not refundable. Failed or overdue payments may cause a paid account to be limited, suspended, or moved to the free plan.
We may change future prices or plan limits with reasonable notice. A change will apply no earlier than the next renewal after the notice period. Mandatory consumer cancellation and refund rights are not affected.
Our intellectual property and feedback
TableRound and its software, visual design, brand, documentation, and service content are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of our intellectual property.
If you send suggestions or feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or payment. This does not give us ownership of your quizzes or other host content.
Third-party services
TableRound depends on third-party services, including Google, Supabase, OVHcloud, and Stripe. Their own terms and privacy policies can apply when you use their services. We are not responsible for a third-party service outside our control, but we remain responsible for our own obligations when we choose a provider to process data for TableRound.
Suspension, termination, and deletion
You can stop using TableRound at any time. Hosts may cancel a paid plan through the billing portal and can request account deletion by emailing us from the account address. Players can clear local preferences and participant credentials with Forget this device.
We may suspend or terminate access where we reasonably believe there is a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, a security risk, unlawful activity, non-payment, or a need to protect users or the service. Where practical, we will give notice and an opportunity to fix the issue. Sections that are intended to survive, including ownership, payment, disclaimers, and liability, continue after termination.
Disclaimers
TableRound is provided on an “as available” basis. We work to keep live rooms reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted operation, error-free scoring, permanent storage, or compatibility with every network, device, browser, projector, or third-party service. Keep a separate copy of important quiz content and event records.
Event listings, host content, and participant names are supplied by users. We do not guarantee that they are accurate, suitable, available, or lawful. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TableRound is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost business, lost goodwill, or data loss arising from use of the service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of €100 and the amount you paid TableRound for the service in that period.
If you use TableRound for business purposes, you will reimburse reasonable losses and costs arising from your unlawful content, your live event, or your material breach of these Terms, except to the extent the loss was caused by TableRound.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect service, legal, security, or business changes. We will update the date at the top and give reasonable notice of a material change. If you keep using the service after the change takes effect, the updated Terms apply. Changes will not apply retroactively where the law does not allow it.
Applicable law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law that applies to the TableRound operator and your use of the service, without overriding mandatory consumer protections. If you are a consumer, you keep any right to bring a claim in the courts of your home country. Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.
If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer your agreement without our permission, but we may transfer it as part of a genuine reorganisation or sale of the service, subject to applicable law.
